Taking part in Stride Outside

Why I’m Striding Outside

I’m taking part in Stride Outside because I’m a big believer that sometimes the best thing you can do for your mental health is put down the phone, step away from the screen and get outside.

We spend so much of our lives connected to emails, notifications, social media and the never-ending scroll that sometimes our brains need a hard reset. And what better reset than fresh air, sunshine, rain, trees and pretending that walking uphill was definitely our idea?

Getting outside and connecting with nature can give us space to breathe, clear our heads, move our bodies and reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. Mental health matters every single day, and creating simple opportunities to look after it should be something we all make time for.

So, I’m swapping screen time for green time, putting one foot in front of the other and getting out into nature — preferably somewhere with a nice view and limited Wi-Fi. 🌱

If you can spare a few dollars, I’d love your support. Your donation will help support mental health initiatives within our Medicare Mental Health Centres and the important work Stride does to help people feel connected, supported and understood.

Thank you for supporting me and helping make mental health a little more visible, accessible and talked about. 💚
