When is the challenge?

add remove
The Stride Outside Challenge begins on Monday, 1st September and ends on Tuesday, 30th September 2025. If you would like to be involved, you can register any time before Monday, 1st September.

What kinds of activities can I do outside?

add remove

The short answer is whatever feels good for you!

Whether it’s a walk, run, bike ride, meditating in the park, reading a book outside, yoga, stargazing or drawing in the sun - the possibilities are endless.

You can change your activities each day - it’s not necessary for you to do the same thing for 30 minutes for 30 days. You can also break up the 30 minutes throughout your day if that suits you better.

The important thing is that you are outside and connecting with the world around you.

Why Stride Outside?

add remove
We know there is an overall positive relationship between spending time in nature and mental health and wellbeing.

Results from our survey last year showed that participants experienced a 34% increase in their wellbeing score at the end of the 30-day challenge.

Spending 30 minutes outside each day sounds easy, however for many people with mental health concerns, stepping outside their front door can be hard.

Through Stride Outside, you’ll raise vital funds for services and help to share ways people can be supported to take a step outdoors and stride towards better mental health.

Our Stride Outside challenge is for people of all ages and fitness levels as participants can choose their preferred outdoor activity.

We want to make fundraising easy, so we have some great resources to help you do that. Your best tool is your online fundraising page – easy to set up and easy to share. It's the best way to get donations and spread the word about your September challenge.

You can visit the resources page to find posters, social media tiles, team virtual backgrounds and more.

How can I add cash donations?

add remove
Yes! A few simple steps

  1. Collect the cash and the details of the donor
  2. Jump directly onto your fundraising page and process the donation under their name using your card.
  3. Then a receipt will be sent to them for tax purpose
It will work better doing this on the front-end of your fundraising page rather than in the back-end of your dashboard.

Do I need an Authority to Fundraise letter?

add remove

By creating a fundraising page, you are accepting the terms and conditions and once your fundraising page has been created, this is your authority to fundraise.

Will people who donate to me get a tax-deductible receipt?

add remove

Absolutely!

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Receipts are issued automatically to the donor after a donation is made through your challenge page.

How do people donate to my fundraising page?

add remove

Once you register, you’ll create your own fundraising page and be provided with a unique URL sent to you via email. You can then share this with your friends and family so they can donate directly to your page!

If you choose to share this via Facebook, you may be prompted to create a Facebook Fundraiser. We recommend you do not proceed with this as any donations made through a Facebook Fundraiser cannot be attributed to your Stride Outside fundraising page.

How long will the fundraising stay open?

add remove

The fundraising will stay open until October 31st.

Where do the funds I raise go?

add remove
