Taking part in Stride Outside

Get out side, move your body and raise awareness for mental health 🦋

This September,

I’m committing to spending 4 hours outside every single day walking or running to raise awareness and funds for mental health. 🤍

This isn’t just a challenge for me, It’s personal and I’m finally in a place I can do it!

A little back story, some people may know already but some may not,

I’ve recently had periods in my life where I completely lost myself. Times where I didn’t recognise the person I was becoming, where I struggled with addiction, unhealthy situations and my own mental health, and honestly didn’t know how I was going to find my way back.

(Crazy to think this was my life for the last 7 months, until 1 month ago! And here I am so greatful with a new view on life)🌸

I know what it feels like to be in a place where everything feels too heavy.

Where it just feels easier to force a smile and pretend everything is okay, when really behind closed doors you’re falling apart.

I know what it feels like to feel lost, ashamed and like you’ve gone too far to turn things around.

But luckily ( and I count my blessings everyday) im here to remind anyone struggling,  you can come back from the darkest places!

Your past doesn’t define you.

Your worst moments don’t define you.

Struggling with your mental health does not make you weak.

I am lucky enough to have my BIG family and a few close friends (who really are family also) that stood by me when I wasn’t okay. They didn’t give up on me even though seeing me and the person I turned into broke their hearts they never once gave up on me!

They made sure I ate, made sure I drunk water, booked me doctor appointments, sat with me while I cried, while I yelled and screamed how much I hated them, while I couldn’t leave my bed, while I slept for 18 hours, they made sure I was showering, they changed plans for me, they constantly refilled my hot water bottle when I was shivering cold one minute, then boiling hot the next, they sat up awake with me while I cried and groaned because my stomach was hurting so bad, they wrote songs about me, they sent me messages or voices messages telling me how much they love me over and over again even after I wouldn’t reply or answer, they took me away to live with them and heal me and love me, they reminded me that I was worth saving when I couldn’t see it myself.

And I will forever be grateful for that! I fucking love yous (you know who you are)💕

That’s why this challenge means so much to me.

For 30 days, 4 hours every day I’m stepping outside, clearing my head, reflecting, and simply just breathing to remind myself how far I’ve come while walking or running and hopefully raising money to help other people who are struggling find the support they need✨

Because someone out there is fighting a battle nobody knows about and everyone deserves to be fought for🥹

So I kindly ask any family or friends, If you can donate, even just a few dollars, I’d appreciate it more than anything!

But if you can’t donate, that’s fine! I just as,

please just check on your people!

Ask twice👏🏼Listen👏🏼Stay👏🏼

Honestly, knowing someone cares can be the thing that gets you through another day.

I most certainly don’t have everything figured out, I know that, I own that!

But here I am anyway🫣

nervous as shit, questioning if I’m ready, scared to be judged and second guessing myself if this is the right decision!

But it is, I’m happy and so proud of myself! so if sharing my personal story and potentially being judged can help someone else and give them hope then I won🩵

So Thank you in advance for supporting me,

I’ll share daily updates of me breaking a sweat so you all can come along for the 30days!🫀
